THE STAFF AT RIVERWAY RECORDING
IRA M. SAKOLSKY (Co-owner, Composer/Engineer)
Ira was born in New York and moved to Connecticut in 1996. As a composer,
and musician, he has written and performed scores for film, theater,
video, and industrial shows.
His credits include the 2003 Grammy-nominated CD The Christmas That
Almost Wasn't, featuring Emmy winner John Lithgow and Grammy winner Steve
Stevens. His other Musical credits include contributions to the Obie-nominated
Hannah Senesh, as well as industrial scores for Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Holiday
Inn, and Arby's. Ira received a special citation from the Romanian Embassy
for his scoring work on Eugene Ionesco's Ionescapades, performed
at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
He served as resident composer for the National Theater of the Deaf
for many years, with credits including the original score for The Curse
of Sleepy Hollow, performed at the Bushnell in Hartford starring Zelda
Rubenstein (Poltergeist, 16 Candles).
His current collaborations include work with Steve Stevens and Grammy-winner
Steven Heller (Doc Watson tribute, Stella Luna).
MONICA SAKOLSKY (Co-owner, Business Manager)
Monica worked for five years with The National Theatre of the Deaf (NTD)
as Interpreter, Assistant Director of Outreach, Tour Coordinator, and
Public Relations Assistant. She has worked as business liaison with Bud
Gaudio, Graphic Artist as well as Special Events Director for Healing
Hearts Through the Arts, a national not-for-profit organization designed
to provide creative arts therapy funding for Hospices.
